In recent years, many unknown hiking trails have emerged in Ypati, mainly on the northern side of the mountain. The routes start from the villages of Ypatis, Loutra Ypatis, Kastania and Neochori and head towards the mountain peaks. The great difference in altitude between the peaks of Oitis from the villages of the beginning of the routes makes them quite difficult but also charming. Most of them up to the alpine altitudes are amongst dense Fir trees. It is impressive that the Fir tree thrives in villages, such as Loutra Ypatis and Ypati, located at 80 and 400 metres respectively. Most of the paths converge at Oiti refuge, at an altitude of 1760 metres, where one can reach after many hours of walking. An unusual and different route is the ascent from Ypati to the Arsali Monastery, route “Ypati Village - Arsali Chapel”.

The “Ypatis Tour” is a circular route, while the routes “Diaselos Pathenas - Aetos Peak”, “Argyrohori Village - Vineyard” and “Kastania Village - Petroto Peak” are short trips. The rest are crossings. In all the village routes of the itineraries the roads are tarmacked except Neohori, where 7 km is a dirt track in good condition.

Demanding routes are those “Ypatis - Oitis Refuge” returning through “Oitis Refuge - Loutra Ypatis”, which is a circular route, while the route “Oitis Refuge - Neohori Village” is the crossing of the whole northern side of the mountain.

Small pleasant and easy routes are from Kastania Village - Kapnohori Village and Kastania Village - Petroto Peak, starting from the village of Kastania.
