Pelion is a mountain in the Prefecture of Magnisia next to the city of Volos, at an altitude of 1,624 metres (Peak of the Purian Cross). According to Greek mythology, it was the summer residence of the gods and the home town of the Centaurs. Pelion hosts many tourists both in the winter and the summer months. Winter is preferred by those who wish to enjoy the beautiful mountain, fresh air and snow (Pelion ski centre), skiing and spending time in nature, while in the summer holidaymakers enjoy the gorgeous beaches of Pelion for swimming, beach tennis, water sports, walking etc. Pelion remains beautiful for all months of the year and is suitable for any kind of activity, as well as for alternative tourism or agro tourism, while at the same time it has the appropriate infrastructure for hosting large numbers of holiday makers.
It is just 1 hour and 30 minutes from the city of Lamia!
