The Archaeological Museum of Lamia is housed in an impressive building from Ottoman times, which operated as barracks and is located on the top of the hill of Lamia's castle. The museum’s collections include archaeological finds from excavations in Fthiotida and Evritania. Characteristic findings are contained in twelve topics, which cover the entire prehistoric and historical period up until the Roman years. The findings give an insight into the history of the area, which includes sections of ancient Phocis, eastern Lokrida, Dorida, Ahaia, Fthiotida and Malidas (Maliakos Gulf area).
