Kallidromos (formerly called “Saromata”), is a mountain of Central Greece at an altitude of 1,399 metres (Gioza peak). It is located in the prefecture of Fthiotida between the Northern Evian Gulf and the Kifissos River valley and covers the largest part of the province of Lokrida. The Northern part is linked to Oiti.
Kallidromos is one of the lowest mountains dominated by fir trees. Most of its northern side is covered with dense fir forests. However, the mountain has a variety of vegetation and in some areas, has blackberrybushes and Oak trees. and at lower altitudes Evergreens and broadleaf trees. On the slopes, many water streams have formed whilst close to the peak a small lake under the name of Neuropolis has formed. A large part of it, mainly including its northern side has been characterized as a landscape of particularly natural beauty.
Today Kallidromos has remarkable walking/hiking trails. The Acropolis rally often takes place on its slopes.
