Subsequently this triple aisled basilica was built on an ancient church. This opinion is based on the existence of architectural remains of Corinthian armour and Byzantine shields, which are currently in its southeastern courtyard. It has a remarkable wood-carved icon screen. From a Byzantine inscription that was rescued, we are informed that it was created in the 18th century.
